SECOND IMPORTANT NOTE: It's been nearly a day since John has disappeared, along with Logan. There are whispers and rumors floating around school that John has left for the Brotherhood again and Logan has followed to skewer him. Some people say they ran away together to fall in love and join the circus though. Keep it in mind!

[Julian is, obviously, not in his room with The Amazing Rainbow Homo. He's in Rogue's room studying. Tapping those books real hard. So if anyone needs to invite him on any secret missions, that is where he is. Dot, dot, dot.

Or perhaps if his girlfriend wants to talk about John leaving for eviler pastures in the meantime.]

[Josh had told Bobby that Julian was probably with Rogue, so here Bobby is, standing at Rogue's door. It's weird. But he's here about a mission, so he puts aside his feelings and just knocks.

The door is opened by Rogue a second later. He gives her a quick smile.]

Hey Rogue.

[Bobby looks past her to Julian, raises his chin slightly in greeting.] Julian. I need to talk to you for a minute.

[Well this is just... fucking odd. Julian's face is an expression of confusion, and he shoots Rogue a look as he climbs off her bed and strolls over to take the door from her.]

[Bobby's gaze flickers briefly to Rogue, and he presses his lips together.] Uh... do you mind if we...

[He jerks his head to the side, indicating for Julian to step out and shut the door. Bobby walks a few steps away, just out of earshot from Rogue's door.]

For Ali!

[Jono was getting a cramp in his neck from sitting in the same position for so long, so he got up and took a quick run. Returning to his room, he glances at his computer screens - he's got his laptop and desktop both running an algorithm programmed to scour the internet for various search terms and browse the latest news sites, hoping to pin down a location. All to find Kevin. Now he's pacing the room nervously, going over the likeliest possibilities in his head. Then he slams down his fist, makes a decision, and raps on Ali's door. Before she even opens it though, he calls out to her.]

This isn't fast enough, Ali. We gotta find a better way.

[Ali's bundled up in a blanket when she finally opens the door, her hair is a mess and her eyes are red from crying. It's been harder not to since, after her talk with Julian, she's actually tried to stop drinking as much. She groggy and dazed, looking up at Jono blankly.]

What? Stop babbling at me, Starsmore. Start making sense or I'm going back to bed.

[Normally, Jono would probably have snapped at Ali to get her act together and shape up. Now, looking at her red, puffy eyes, he is completely awkward and doesn't know what to say.]

Uh... there there, Ali. [He pulls her into a half-hug, and then leans her back to look at her at arm's length - and his arms are pretty long.]

I'm coming up with a few decent hits on my online search, but it's not fast enough. People are already gone. Some may know for sure where he is. [Jono swallows nervously, now resorting to saying him instead of Kevin's name.]

Somebody knows. That's all I'm saying. We'll just have to find out, and go to him.

[The hug is a comfort, awkward though it is, and she wipes her face with the corner of the blanket as Jono's words are sinking in. Her eyes snap to clarity at "Somebody knows."]

Who? [She straightens, throwing off the blanket and ushering him inside her room, peeking down the hallway to see if anyone's around. She's getting the feeling the two of them have been left to suffer blindly in the dark intentionally, and she doesn't like it. She closes the door and puts a small part of her mind to monitoring the sounds in the hall, damping their voices.] Who knows? When did this happen? Why weren't we told?

[Panic hits her for a split second, thinking of her sister. Kevin would be safe considering any mission would be centered around rescuing him, but Lois? She instinctively grips Jono's arm, her fingers digging into muscle.] Who's gone already?

[Summoned by a telepathic shout from Ali, Jono is jogging up to the door of Forge's lab.]

[Ali jangles them, popping the door open quickly for them to slip inside. She stares around helplessly for a moment, no clue where to start. She goes for a huge stack of papers next to Forge's computer.] What...is all this crap?

[Any other time, Jono would've teased her merciless for her computer-ineptitude, but right now, he's too focused on the task at hand. He ruffles through the printouts on Forge's desk, and then, prompted by something he reads, enters a code into the computer, which has been left on.]

No, this is good. Some of this intel matches one of the possibilities that I pulled up from my search. They all seemed pretty likely, but like I said before -- with this info, I can narrow it down to just one place. [He nods, mostly to reassure himself, and affirms the newfound information again.]

Yeah. This is good.

Good. [Ali nods, businesslike, and turns her attentions to the gadgets and gizmos scattered everywhere. She remembers Forge telling her something about teleportation tech.] How long will it take you? We have only an hour or so before he gets back, and we can't take anything with us. [She frowns, a small part of her mind warning that this invasion might cost her her relationship with the Maker.] It's bad enough that we're even moving things around, but...

[She leaves the thought to hang, they both know they're out of other options.]

[Bobby knocks on the door of the room Kitty shares with Laura, and for the first time in a long time, he's hoping that Laura isn't there.]

[Kitty's been quietly worrying since both John and Logan took off - it doesn't seem right to her. The rumors flying around don't make sense, the John she's gotten to know wouldn't take off like this, not for the Brotherhood. It's a gut feeling, one that she wants to trust. Laura's not around and she's almost grateful for it, her friend would pick up on her worries and it isn't something Kitty wants to bother her with. Because everything's going to be fine, right? Just fine.

She's organizing one of her school folders when the knock sounds, and for the briefest second Kitty's stupid enough to think - well, let's just say she was hoping for someone else at the door. But she's happy to see Bobby, just not so thrilled at his expression she reads right away.] Bobby? Hey, everything all right?

[Sometimes, Bobby's glad they've been friends for so long and that he doesn't have to beat around the bush or lie to her.] Uh, not exactly.

[He walks in and carefully shuts the door behind him, then he takes a seat on her bed. There's no need for small talk; he doesn't need to ask her to keep it quiet. He just gets right to the point.]

Logan's taken John to the Brotherhood. He's basically going to be a mole... I think it might have something do to with Kevin. Emma doesn't have a lot of confidence in Logan's plan, so she's asked me to lead a covert team to provide back-up, in case it falls through. I've got Julian on board, and now I need you.

BRIEFING THREAD - Iceman, Hellion, and Shadowcat

[Emma's managed to make sure that no one will be in the lower levels at this time of day. Hank is off in the city for a science thing and both Scott and Ororo are tied up with teaching. Therefore, she's holding this briefing in the actual X-men briefing room.

She's informed the three members of her little covert team of the meeting time and location and is now just waiting for them.]

[Bobby strides in, already in his suit. He'd spent the time between talking to Kitty and this meeting in the control room of the Danger Room, running through simulations of known members of the Brotherhood, going over what he already knows.

He's feeling anxious and maybe even a little bit nervous - the fact that this will be his first time leading an actual operation has finally sunk in. But he knows there's no time or room for self-doubt. He can do this. He will do this. And they're all going to come back from this. He'll make sure of it.]

[Julian follows shortly behind. His talk with Rogue slowed him down some, but he's already suited up and ready to get going by now, what with Bobby talking to Kitty and running through sims. He's put together and is pushing the troubling conversation with Rogue from his mind, yet the effects of doing so linger: his blue eyes are hard and serious, more so than they might have been.

He's adjusting one of his gloves; he stops by a chair and nods to Emma, then Bobby.]

[Forge is tinkering in the Danger Room, a tiny soldering gun sparkling as it emerged from the tip of his mechanical index finger. He has wire cutters held between his teeth, goggles shielding his eyes. He's trying to making last minute upgrades to some of the simulation pathways. Something fizzles and pops, sparking up into his face and he curses softly, throwing the wire cutters aside and flipping up his goggles.]

Fuck!

[His real hand runs through his hair, tugging it in frustration. He had intended to do this last night, but he had come back to the mansion to find his girlfriend, Ali had vanished with Jono and his lab had been ransacked. Well, sort of. Torn between worry, anger and nagging jealousy, the modifications he's making had completely slipped his mind until an hour before the session he was supposed to run with Rogue.]

Day going that well for you too? [Rogue comes into the Danger Room just in time to hear his expletive. She readjusts a glove as she nods in greeting, jaw set and feeling rather inclined to hit things after she'd put two and two together and started to figure out what was going on.]

We'll make our own fun. Forge can build it for us all!

[Forge's snaps his attention to her, a little embarassed that she's witnessed his display. He supposed to be training her today, not pitching a hissy fit. Still, her comment gives him pause and he raises an eyebrow.]

Didn't know I wasn't alone thinking this whole damn place's gone totally crazy.

Polaris - TEAM BENCHWARMERS ARE GO!

[Vanisher 'ports Polaris' splinter cell into the centre of the X-mansion's courtyard. Polaris casts a sidelong glance over at Porter and frowns.]

You couldn't have picked somewhere a bit more discreet to make our grand entrance?

[She turns to Mastermind, gesturing quickly at the mansion.]

Do something to cover this mess up.

[It takes all of three seconds for Emma to pick up on the intruders' presences. It takes even less time for her to spring out of her chair in Cerebro and reach out mentally to those left in the mansion. Her tone is most definitely stressed and a bit away from her usual cool mostly due to half of the mansion's heavy hitters being states away.]

We are under attack by the Brotherhood. It's a small but dangerous crew. I need everyone who can fight outside now: Forge, Rogue, X, Elixir. Now.

[She senses the Cuckoos starting to automatically move towards Cerebro, their usual "battlestation."] No girls; I need you to fight today. However, still mentally link those of us fighting.

[By now, Emma's reached the front doors of the mansion, narrowing her eyes in anger as she catches sight of Lorna and Alex for the first time in years. Forge arrives a moment later.] Tell me you have tech, dear.

[Josh immediately perks up at Emma's telepathic message. A 90 mile-an-hour fastball whizzes by his shoulder and into the net behind him as Josh misses this ball. He's in the batting cages honing his reflexes with the pitching machine, and at the message, turns the machine off and races to the front of the mansion, bringing the bat with him.]

[Forge has come prepared with tech and fixin's for more. He drops a duffel bag full of gadgets and gizmos aplenty, including a hot little set of comm devices which he distributes.]
