Don't worry, you'll join him soon enough.
[Lorna pulls back, almost reeling, gaining altitude at a ridiculous clip. The very earth beneath her shudders and something deep within the bowels of the Mansion groans, the walls and gardens and walkways all tremoring as Polaris commands them to surrender any and all alloys to her will. Even from a distance, her eyes glow with power as if her sole purpose is to come and undo everything that the X-Men, Charles Xavier, Rogue herself has worked to build.]

[Rogue doesn't even think as she reaches deeper to bring forth more of the psyche. She needs more of its power, more of its control. There's no way she can stop Lorna as Rogue; she needs to become Magneto. The psyche doesn't quite have complete control but it's more than she's ever tried to channel from a psyche ever before.
It doesn't matter. She has no choice anymore.
Rogue shoots higher into the air, drawing level with Polaris again. She reaches out with the now more than ever amplified powers, trying to counter the destruction Lorna's attempting. The entire earth continues to tremble, the metal beneath torn between two opposing commands. Her eyes are glowing with power again and it's started to spread to her hands, the iron rods before just floating around her without any real focused thought. The air itself is buzzing.]

Part of the supports of the east wing of the mansion break free, hovering behind Lorna, waiting for her will the shape them, mold them into projectile death. They wait, held at bay by Rogue's will, but each broad strut, each flat sheet of metal bursts into a thousand shards of razor threat at the ready.]

The psyche's thoughts and memories are easier access now and she latches on to them, trying to find something that could shake the other mutant's focus, make her sloppy.] Destroying the mansion isn't going to make your father love you, Polaris.

Unfortunately for him, Lorna lets a spray of sharp, pointy things loose in Forge's direction. He has to dive and duck for cover to avoid imminent death, but a few strike home, one lodging in his shoulder, another sinking into his abdomen, deep, but just under the angle of his ribs so his internal organs are more or less protected form it. He hopes.

Close to him, he spots Josh's baseball bat, grabs it and splits it in two, the wood splintering into sharp, jagged ends. He sets to work inlaying it with synthetic wiring and a contact-based taser mechanism. He thinks there's enough power to it to incapacitate a person, but getting close enough to Lorna might be a problem. She's now levitating 4x4s and riding mowers above her head which she's ripped from the machine shed, hurling them at Rogue in rapid succession.]

She blocks the incoming masses of metal, sending them hurtling right back at Polaris as fast as she can manage. A few of the beams are held back until Rogue judges she has enough and sends them flying at breakneck speed at Polaris from all different angles, hoping that at least one will break through.]

I you'd just hold still for a moment, we could hurry this up so you can die already.

And then she feels it again. That horrible horrible sensation of overloading and too many powers fighting for dominance in her drained and exhausted body. This is not going to be good.]

It gives him enough pause to call out to her, hoping she can gain control]
Rogue! The fight's over girl, come back down!
no subject
She's probably not going to get control back any time soon.]

Sorry, girl.
[It connects successfully, the jagged splinter edges of the wood making contact with enough force to drive deep into Rogue's upper back. He hears her cry out, watches her convulse as the charge takes hold. He darts out quickly as she begins to fall, just barely positioning himself in time to catch her.
She's sweating, panting, questionably conscious. He pushes her hair back from her face with his synthetic hand, cupping her cheek as he supports her limp neck.]
Come on, Rogue. Come on back.

You could always take up biting your nails. Might be a little less wear and tear on you, long term. [He gives her a gentle, friendly jostle.] You won't get to save the day nearly as much, though.
