SECOND IMPORTANT NOTE: It's been nearly a day since John has disappeared, along with Logan. There are whispers and rumors floating around school that John has left for the Brotherhood again and Logan has followed to skewer him. Some people say they ran away together to fall in love and join the circus though. Keep it in mind!

[Emma nods in greeting to each member of the team as they enter their room, expression never changing as she picks up mentally on some of their worries and concerns.]

I see that you've already been informed of the basic mission premise but I want to reiterate that this is a covert mission. You are to serve as back up only if necessary. Obviously the ideal situation would be if Logan never learned of your presence in the area.

[She pauses to give each of them one of her patented stares that indicate how serious she is. After a moment, she slides a packet across the table towards each of them. Each one contains two comm devices, a folder of pages of what information she could get about the location, another with profiles of known Brotherhood members, and there's probably a nifty tech gadget or two in there as well.]

I've arranged for you to take the Blackbird. Speed could very well be necessary here. You'll have to land it away from target however. The comms are linked to two separate but secure networks. One is just within the three of you and then other will connect you back to myself here in the mansion. The rest is mostly necessary intelligence. Review it on the flight up there.

[Julian wordlessly gives all three packets an extra telekinetic nudge towards the edges of the table, right in front of his teammates and himself. He scoops his own up, peeks in it, and slides out one of the debriefing files, opening the manila folder to the first page. His expression is grave and all-business and his eyes skim the information at his disposal.]

Vermont? You'll be right at home, Iceman.

[Bobby pays no attention to the comment, instead flipping through his own file to the information they've been given on the Brotherhood.]

Are these all the known members?

[Magneto, Caliban, Mortis, Multiple Man, Polaris - he'd been running their sims just minutes ago. But there's a face or two he's never come across before. And...]

That... would be the complicated part. [She gestures for Bobby to look at the last few pages, Mystique's is on the bottom.] Despite appearances, we've determined that Magneto is not actually a part of this New Brotherhood. Instead, Mystique has been masquerading as him with the help of Polaris's magnetism powers. We're not sure how many of the Brotherhood know that it's been a lie.

[Well, that's... new. Bobby's never come up against Mystique before, but he's run her sims and read the mission reports. In some ways, she's even more dangerous than Magneto - much more unpredictable. He nods grimly.

Flipping quickly through the file, he catches sight of Kevin's name. Bobby had suspected he'd fallen in the with Brotherhood since leaving the mansion, but nothing had been confirmed - at least, not to him.]

Logan's operation - it's to do with Kevin?

[Emma nods, biting back a few choice words about Logan's "operation." Operation, plan... it doesn't matter what you call it, she still doesn't like it.] Yes, they're trying to extract him. Consider that a part of your mission as well unless, of course... [Her voice trails off, leaving the rest of the sentence unsaid. She doesn't want to say that there's a possibility that the X-men have completely failed Kevin and that he's now Brotherhood through and through. That would make it seem like more of a certainty.]

[Bobby refuses to even entertain that possibility. He can't. Because acknowledging it makes it real, and he can't lead a mission when he's already thinking he might have failed. He can't have failed, not again. This time, they were going out to bring everyone home.]

We'll bring all of our people back.

[His voice is firm, leaving no room for other possibilities. And right now, for him, in order for him to feel the confidence he needs, there are no other possibilities.]
