They're for the new karaoke night Ali's insisted her bosses set up, and encouraged everyone within earshot of her ever to attend. You better be planning on attending, or else you'll never hear the end of it.

You're probably bumping into her, skating around the school, catching her heading off to work to set up, or perched on a bar stool impatiently waiting for the fun to begin. In typical Ali form, she's humming and singing to herself, it sure does sound like Blinded by the Light.]

[Jono's sitting in the passenger seat of a tow truck. They pull up to the garage of the mansion, hauling a, well, a wreck. As he gets out, the driver helps him unhook the old, yellow, beat-up muscle car with black racing stripes.

Kevin's hand-me-down black sports car looks especially impressive compared to Jono's wreck. About to take off for somewhere, he stops, keys jingling in his gloved hands. "Who do you think you are, a Transformer?" Kevin snorts.]

Shows you how much you know, you bugger. This isn't a Camaro. It's a Chrysler Valiant Charger from the 70s.

[Unimpressed, Kevin laughs and leans against his own shiny car. "Well, does it... work?"]

It will. You'll see. [Jono reaches down into the plastic bag he's holding and tosses Kevin a melon.] Have a fruit! We stopped at a fruit market on the way over. [Jono munches into his own melon, as though he and the tow truck driver had somehow become buddies on the short drive to the mansion.]

(So this new Charlie Simpson video partially inspired this.)

[Bobby, for once, is not in the kitchen. And - wait for it - he's not even eating ice cream.

No, Bobby's hanging out by the lake, sprawled on the ground, experimenting with his powers a little bit. Technically, it's spring, but if you pass by now, you'd be forgiven for thinking it's still winter: there's a little snow on the ground and the air is very chilly. Bits of the lake appear to be frozen.

He's feeling pretty relaxed and cheerful, so as long as you don't talk to him about taxes, he'll be happy to chat with you!]

[Julian is sprawled across some couch, propped up by a pillow and the armrest, a book open on his chest. Yes, Julian Keller is reading. Why? He has to, for one class or another. This one's for business and he's actually paying some attention to the words on the page, although every now and then he spaces out, looks off to the side. He's not bored or even necessarily tired anymore, just weary in a way that's starting to get under his skin.

It's quiet where he is; this is the living area most students don't frequent - it's usually occupied by the Cuckoos. Today, however, Julian's in it for the same reason he's been in it more often than the rec room all week: to avoid people. There's just something about what he's working through that makes him a bit anti-social.]

She's still looking for her DVD of The Last Waltz, which she swears she lent to Jono, while he swears he's never seen the damn box. He did take an obligatory cursory look around his room, and there was nothing. Finally, Jono has had it. Totally is fed up with her whining. So he strides down the hallway to her room, surveys the damage, then, on a hunch, picks up one particularly large pile of clothes and, lo and behold...]

[After Jono survived the verbal assaults from Emma and Forge (and Bobby, if you counted that one, and Jono did), he managed to unwind just a bit by going out for chicken wings with Bobby. But he's still feeling a bit shaken. He's draped on his bed right now, and sighs. What a week.

He lifts his head to survey the room. His acoustic and electric guitars had been sitting unused for several weeks now, and he groans when he thinks about how out of practice he must be by now. Ever since Warren left, Jono's had a lot of space in the room to lay out his stuff, and because of Kevin being missing, he hadn't really spent any time doing stuff like cleaning. Now, he realizes, it's a mess.]

When the hell am I going to fix up this room?

Okay, so, in order to preserve my sanity while I get back into the rhythm of things with class, I'm trying something a little different. This will work kind of like the day-in-the-life posts, except I'm just going to throw up a few comments for a few specific characters, and then a general "Bobby's in the kitchen eating ice cream; come say hi" one which anyone can tag into after that. =)

Comments will be in vague chronological order, but we all know that TIME IS IN FLUX at XMH, so it doesn't matter too much when this stuff happens!

Content: "So there was this Brotherhood thing that just went down," as Emma has mentioned. Forge is dealing with some of the aftermath as well, with a lot of pent-up jealousy and anger issues, and OH MAN. Watch out. This guy is probably a very scary sight to see when angry.

Notes: Forge specifically has issues with a certain duo who broke into his lab, but he certainly needs playtimes with people in general, so feel free to jump in! - Iris

[Forge is walking down the hallway from his workshop. He hasn't even had the time yet to fix up his cyborg parts from the fight. He's walking with a slight limp, and every time he takes a step, his mechanical leg lets out a squeak. It would be comical, and people would be laughing, if it weren't for the fact that he's also practically bursting at the seams with anger. At a hefty six-foot-five, the Maker, well, makes for some pretty scary stuff when pissed off.]

Content: So there was this Brotherhood thing that just went down and it's quite possible that there are people who either want to speak calmly with her or else who have been summoned. And by speak, we clearly mean argue. And summoned most likely means a dressing down. Except for Bobby. He's safe. It's all good though.
