[open log] Bobby needs to do some thinking. And talking.
Characters: Bobby, you
Setting: Various places around the mansion
Content: Bobby deals with his recent phone call in various ways.
Status: Open and incomplete
Threadjacking: Totally cool with me! (LOL PUNS)
Notes: There are a few specific people Bobby should talk to, and that's indicated in the threads, but otherwise... free-for-all! Also: XMH is so great for when I have nothing to do at work. Just saying, you guys. =D

For Emma and the Cuckoos
He strides purposefully to Emma's office. The door is slightly ajar, and he can see her talking to the Cuckoos inside.
He knocks lightly.]
Darling, you have no idea how badly I needed to RP tonight. <3
Come in, dear.
Glad to be of service, lovely! <3
[Bobby walks in and stands with his hands in his pockets behind the Cuckoos, who have now all turned and are watching him with that identical unfathomable gaze.
He blinks at them and then turns his attention to the woman sitting behind the desk.]
I, uh, had a call from my mom just now.
[He's pretty much counting on Emma knowing his family history. Because of course she does.]

Emma raises an eyebrow, taking a brief mental survey of the situation before nodding curtly. Her next words are directed at the blonde triplets in front of her.] Darlings, we can continue this later. I believe that Mr. Drake and I need to have a little chat.
[She doesn't say anything else until Celeste closes the door behind them.] Take a seat.

Sorry for the crappy tag. I'm still flailing from the Hobbit trailer.

In the Danger Room
There's nobody in the Danger Room when he enters. He loads up a simple countryside simulation and walks to the centre of the room.
He closes his eyes, holds out his hands, and lets go. A wave of freezing cold energy pulses rapidly out, radiating from the centre, and in a matter of seconds, the entire room is covered with ice and snow.]
This is Iris
He gives Bobby a nod when he sees the Danger Room isn't empty.]
You finishing up? Or do you want to practice a little more?
no subject
Just getting started. What do you feel like doing?
[Bobby knows what he feels like doing: train until it hurts.]
no subject
With Bobby, he doesn't have to worry. So he continues his warm up and looks around the winter wonderland with admiration. Bobby has mutant powers to be envious of.]
Anything goes, man.

By the lake
Now would be a good time to talk things through with someone who would understand his crazy family - like, say, his ex-girlfriend, or his favourite punk rocker. It would probably also be a good time to tell his girlfriend what's on his mind, even if she might not understand his crazy family.]

Hey sugah.

Hey. [He attempts a smile, but it comes out half-hearted, and he knows that she will be able to tell that something's up.]

It's too early for you to already having to avoid kids asking for tax help.
[Her tone is light and she bites her lip for a brief moment as she drops down to sit on the grass beside him, tone and expression sobering.]
Do you want to talk about it?

[They're friends, but Bobby doesn't really know him very well. So he tries to sweep the pensive expression from his face and gives the other guy a small smile.]
How's everything going?
no subject
Oh, you know. Not much. Just hanging out here for Christmas.
(OOC: I also just realized that Josh's parents basically threw him out to fend for himself... Hmmm, perhaps they do have something to talk about?)

Either way, when her senses find Bobby, she stops to study the slant of his shoulders, the posture of his body. It is off, she thinks. Perhaps it has been worry driving her all along.
Her steps are entirely soundless, and she walks in no rush to approach him from behind, stopping a few paces away.]
Hi.
CRYSTAL OMG *GLOMP*
Hey.
[He makes the tiniest movement of his head to indicate that she should come closer, and waits for her to approach.]
I AM HERE /GLOMP
Laura simply lets their thighs touch on the cold bench and shares the warmth. She is not sure how to ask if anything is wrong even if it is, so she doesn't, decides to look out over the calm lake instead.
She is not good at this. But she feels comfortable enough with Bobby not to pretend, or feel shame.]
You are worried.
YAAAAAY. Oh, these two. My heart. <3

In the kitchen
Bobby might not feel like talking about his family, but maybe you can prise it out of him. Or maybe you could discuss the ever-growing animosity stirred up by the Friends of Humanity. Or Christmas. Or... anything, really; Bobby's eating ice cream so he's feeling better already.]
Re: In the kitchen
He was going to make a root beer float for himself, but poking his head into the kitchen and seeing his friend sitting at the kitchen island like that, Jono decides to make it two. He plops a scoop of ice cream into each cup of root beer - splashing root beer all over the countertop of course - and slides one across to Bobby.]
I bought more ice cream.
IRIS, that was a BEAUTIFUL TAG right there. Oh, Jono!
Thanks, man.
[He holds his cup up in a silent cheers and takes a swig.]
What're you doing here tonight? No band practice?
[Yeah, he might be avoiding the subject of Why Bobby Drake is Drowning His Feelings in Ice Cream.]
AWW!! I'm so glad you think so :D
Uh, well, we did have band practice, but Ali and Kevin got into a wee bit of a disagreement, and well... words were exchanged, but it's nothing we haven't heard before, and it didn't come to blows, and I'm sure they'll be fine by tomorrow. You know how they are. [Jono huffs as though he's never responsible for any of the numerous "disagreements" that the band gets itself into.]
