[Bobby drops into a chair and breathes out a sigh, fingers reaching up to knead the back of his neck.]

My brother's missing. [He says it bluntly, words falling quickly.] Mom wanted to know if I'd... heard from him. I haven't, obviously. You know what happened there.

[He meets Emma's eyes and presses his lips together.]

I guess... I mean, I know this isn't something big that concerns the X-Men. I just thought that you might be able to help, somehow.

[Emma's keeping her mental hands to herself for now. She wraps her hands around a half full mug of coffee on her desk, taking a sip as he speaks.] Is this a request for me to use Cerebro to find your brother?

Well... not necessarily. [He pauses and thinks for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck.] I just... don't know where to start looking for him. We haven't even spoken in years. But using Cerebro to find him... I don't know, it doesn't feel right, somehow.

[He expels a breath of embarrassed laughter.] I'm not making sense.

Not really, dear, no. [Emma takes another sip of coffee before putting the mug down again, frowning ever so slightly.]

What's troubling you more: your brother being missing or that your mother called?

Both, I guess. I haven't heard from any of my family in years, and all of a sudden...

[He sighs.] Just the fact that she called me at all means that she's really worried about Ronnie.

[Bobby purses his lips and meets Emma's eyes.] I just... have a bad feeling about all of this.

[And now Emma has a bad feeling about this. Because when one of the X-men has a bad feeling, that tends to translate to something bad happening for everyone. Her frown deepens a little but her tone stays calm.] Are you worried about him?

[There's only a small beat of hesitation before Bobby answers.] Yes. Ronnie... he's never been a bad kid, and since I... left... he's probably been the golden son - it's everything he'd have wanted. Mom said he'd been happy, the last time they talked - it makes no sense that he'd have just run off without telling them. Especially now, around the holidays.
