[Rogue's sitting in the kitchen with a steaming hot mug of tea and some random book that has absolutely nothing to do with class or her exams. Shhh, she's procrastinating! Don't tell anyone! But, y'know, feel free to bother her.]

[Most people, when hanging out in the kitchen, run into Jono. He strolls in, grabs something out of the freezer, and puts it into the microwave with a loud slam of the door. He winces at the noise and grins at Rogue.]

No worries, sugah. [She glances up from her book and smiles in return. And then she can't help but tease him a little bit.] So is this pre-dinner snack then?

[Jono looks sheepish for a moment. Now that the "I have a face again!" novelty has worn off for everyone but him, he's thinking he might have to be a little bit embarrassed about being such a glutton. Especially in front of pretty girls. Oh well.]

Actually, just early dinner. I got a training thing in the evening tonight.

[Okay, so maybe he was planning to eat again after he goes for a run, but whatever. Shh.]

Right, got it. [She nods at his explanation but can't properly hide the amused grin on her face. Jono's food habits never cease to amuse her for some reason.]

[A faint blush immediately comes to her cheeks and she bits her lip and looks away, a bit embarrassed.] It's not completely my fault...

[Bobby wanders in, looking cheerful (the news of Kevin's disappearance hasn't spread yet), and he smiles at Rogue before opening the freezer.]

[She shakes her head with a grin, holding up the book for a moment so he can see it has nothing to do with academics.]

[He chuckles.]> Ah. Avoiding finals like the plague, I get it.

[He grabs his ice cream and a spoon and sits next to her.]

So how've you been, anyway?

[She shrugs, taking a sip of her tea and shutting her book.] Good, I guess. Been trainin' a lot in between classes and all. [It's thus far completely normal conversation between them. Rogue almost can't believe it. She's just going to cross her fingers that it can stay like this.] How about you?

[Bobby eats a spoonful of ice cream, taking his time as he thinks about how he is. And then he smiles at her.]

[She nods with a smile before her gaze drops to her hands. The mug gets slowly spun around as she bites her lip indecisively for a moment before looking over at him again.] Hey uhmm... are they letting y'all on the team know anything more about the Brotherhood? Logan keeps shutting me down before I can do more than just ask.

[His expression turns serious.] I went to talk to Frost last week about it. Apparently it's Logan's show and the intel is too fresh to share... she did say we'd be briefed as soon as there's enough to go on.

[He glances at her, watches her carefully. He knows how much she struggles against her demons, one of which in particular is probably about to come back to haunt her.]

She didn't tell me much. But it's enough to have me worried.

[Ali's popping into the kitchen to grab a beer. It's her night off, and she was supposed to be hanging out with her "old man" boyfriend, as Julian would put it, but he's nowhere to be found. So, she's drinking.]

Hey, have you seen the Maker?

[Rogue shakes her head.] Nope, sorry. Is he not in his batcave?

[Ali curses under her breath. She's not the clingy type of girlfriend, but she's starting to wonder if something's up.]

Dunno, it's locked up tight. We were supposed to hang out, but he's been MIA the last week or so. Won't even bore me with his latest projects.

[She takes a sip of her drink, hopping up on a stool next to Rogue, looking down into the depths of her beer bottle.]

I'm getting kinda worried...

[Rogue shrugs, taking a long drink of tea. She really has absolutely no idea.] He does government contracts and stuff, right? Maybe he's been working on one of those?

Well, yeah, but...he tells me about them! At least, that he's working on them, anyway. This is weird, he's usually all about--[Ali opens her mouth to continue, then catches a glance of Rogue, remembering who she's talking to...and that they aren't really friends. Ali doesn't really have any girlfriends, and no suitable guyfriends she can talk about this stuff with. It's kind of starting to drive her crazy, which is probably why she's bothering Rogue.] Whatever, it's boring. What're you studying?

Nothing, I'm avoiding studying actually. [She says the words somewhat careless, giving the older girl an appraising look. They really don't know each other but on the other hand... this is Julian's best friend and she has decent taste in music. Not to mention that Ali'd had her back in the DR the other day; something Rogue puts some stock in. She takes another sip of tea before speaking again.] Look, I can... I can listen if you need me to.

[Julian's entering the kitchen because, well, obviously he wants a sandwich to stuff down his gullet. Rogue being there is just a pleasant surprise. Really pleasant, honestly. When his eyes land on her, he instantly smiles, and he gets a certain kind of look. To an unbiased observer, this is clearly a look of love.

He walks over, sandwich put on hold, and tips over the cover of her book to peek at it.]

This isn't studying material, sugar.

[She smiles because, well, she's glad to see him too.] That'd be because I'm procrastinating. [A slight flush comes to her cheeks as she meets his gaze and she looks back down at her book. The last time they'd talked, there'd been a lot of soul baring and she can't help feeling just a little bit embarrassed and awkward that she'd been so open and emotionally raw.]

[Well, he's not quite sure what that blush is about, but she's smiling, so he'll take it as a good sign. It helps he finds pink cheeks endearing on her, too. He grabs the seat next to her, barely looking away from her the whole time, and pulls it over to climb on. He's facing her, his legs open, one of his knees casually resting against her thigh.]

You know, as my tutor, beautiful, you're not setting a good example.
