[open log] Training! Hand-To-Hand! Drills!
I was talking to a couple of people about having some training threads to practice action tags and/or get some CR development with Logan. I figured having one big thread for anyone who wanted to play with more training scenarios. I think for this particular thread, I want to keep it just one-on-one combat, not team training. If this works well, maybe it can be a semi-regular thing.
Obviously, with the Kimura scene still ongoing, this doesn't fit with the current timeline, but it could be backdated, I suppose, to before the mansion was blown up.
This thread is open to anyone who feels like jumping in for some one-on-one playtime with Logan, other faculty members included if they need to blow off some steam or get a couple rounds in.
He is standing in the Danger Room, inspecting his unsheathed claws casually, impatient. He turns to you as you walk in with a feral grin.
“Been waiting, Bub. Don’t have all day.”
The Wolverine.
The Old Man.
The Man They Call Logan.
Teacher.
Trainer.
Killer.
Mutant.
Today, he is your opponent and he is waiting, goading you on. He expects you to fail. This is his lesson on melee combat. He dives at you full force, claws unsheathed. He is casual as he instructs you, as if it took no effort at all to attack. For him, it doesn’t.
“Fight back, but fight smart. Remember your strengths, not just your powers and your physical abilities. Think about your terrain, your surroundings. How can you use them to target your enemy’s weaknesses?”

[He's at her side in an instant, ignoring his own pain. He's helping her up gingerly, knowing how fragile she is in these moments. He places a soothing hand on her back and looks at her with concern.]
You okay?

I'm sorry-- it's never been that bad before. I don't know what the hell just...
[Her palms are pressed against her thighs, gripping hard enough to hurt as she struggles to make herself stop shaking.]

[He crouches down in front of her, his hands reaching out to steady her also.]
Can your remember if their powers have never resurfaced, except for just now?

I don't know. It's always him, always Bobby, sometimes you. Others come and go. Depends on how much I drained from them.

[He furrows his brow. Is this too much for her? He hopes not.]
You know, pull someone, me let's say, out of the woodwork if you had to? Could you pop a bone claw without me around if you focused?
no subject
That ain't exactly something I'm inclined to try.

[He knows better than to push her too far right now, after a 'sode, but this conversation isn't over. It's just on hold.]
We're done here, today. But we're coming back to this, Marie. Count on it.

[The words are almost automatic and she can't take the sound of her name anymore. She tries to ignore--to forget the rest of what he said. Randomly manifesting Magneto's psyche had been bad enough. She can't imagine what it'll feel like to willing try and recall his powers. She turns away, heading for the doors. This conversation is going to be avoided at all costs.]

[This isn't fatherly friend Logan talking, this is I'm a serious badass and I won't be ignored Logan. She stops, turns to glare at him, and waits.]
Beers are in the fridge, help yourself if you need one.
