[Kitty accepts his help and soon she's up on the ice, a bit wobbly at first. She takes a moment to steady herself, testing the way the blade moves on the ice. It's ] Good! [She pauses and considers this, but finds herself thinking of Laura, the aftermath of the Kimura incidents - Kitty herself has been fine, yes, but someone she cares about hasn't.] I don't know, I've been worried about Laura. All the craziness a few weeks back really shook her up. I mean, she says nothing's wrong, but I don't know if I can believe that.

[Bobby finds himself involuntarily stiffening at the mention of Laura and he's immediately way, way more attentive than perhaps he's supposed to be.] Laura? What do you mean, what's going on?

[He resists the urge to kick himself as they skate along, because his obvious concern is definitely going to arouse Kitty's suspicions. They've been friends long enough for her to be able to read him like almost nobody else.]

[Oh, Kitty definitely notices. Were it someone else she didn't know as well, the sudden attention would've gone unseen, but this is Bobby. She's known him long enough to realize something's definitely up.] Oh no, it's not like she's been doing really badly, but just...quieter. And not around as much. I don't know where she goes, but you know how she is... [Kitty trails off, because...no, Bobby doesn't. Unless there's something he's not telling her as she suspects, because he sure seems to care a lot - more than usual, at least - about Laura's well being.] Actually, you don't know how she is. Or...do you?

[There's a slightly troubled look on his face as he listens to her, but he tries to smooth it away as he spins them around and skates back the other way. His grip on her hand might have tightened just a tiny bit. He can feign innocence and if he's lucky, Kitty won't press. (Except he knows he's not a lucky person, and Kitty will definitely press. But that doesn't mean he's not going to try anyway.)] Oh. No. Not lately, anyway. She must be avoiding the mansion; I haven't seen her around much.

Awwww. She has been avoiding the mansion. And Bobby. :'( Aw this tag is just so sad.

DUDE. IT IS SAD.

But you know what isn't sad? The John/Kitty tag!! OMG THE SQUEEAGE!

HEE IT ISN'T SAD AT ALL. I thought it would take awhile for him to start likin' her or even... tolerating her, but he surprised me. Boys fall fast, I guess. :P

MINDY WE NEED A BOBBY/LAURA THREAD SOON.

[Maybe Kitty's reaching, but Bobby mentioning he wanted to move on at the bonfire - was there something more there? Someone he had in mind like...Laura?] I don't think anyone has. [Kitty glances up at him, amazed she's missed this, because something is definitely going on here and she isn't imagining it. Her feet wobble a bit on the ice as they turn, but her curiosity and concern has her barely noticing it.] You're holding back on me. [Kitty states this like a fact - if she's wrong, she's wrong, but she's almost 100% sure she's right.]

[Seriously, how does she do that? Bobby shakes his head and sighs. There's a ghost of a smile playing on his lips, because here he'd been all these weeks, feeling like there was nobody to really talk to, and after half a conversation, Kitty's already onto him.] Okay. Yeah. I am.

[He pauses. Where does he actually start?] These last couple of months, Laura and I spent a lot of time together. And I... uh... I don't know. I think I might... be interested in her, you know? I just... isn't it too soon? I mean, all this stuff with Rogue... and I don't really know if she likes me... [Wow, he feels really, really young and stupid all of a sudden. He lifts his free hand to rub his face.] I am so pathetic.

[Oh, Kitty's pleased. Very pleased. She's trying really hard to hold back the smile tugging at her lips, but fails miserably. It's just that she knows Bobby - and she knows that she can trust him with Laura, trust him to treat her right. Needless to say, Kitty approves.] Pathetic? [Kitty gives him a soft whack on the arm, shaking her head. No, he doesn't sound anywhere near pathetic - conflicted, definitely, but who can blame him for that?] Bobby, if you like her - what have you got to lose? Trust yourself. There shouldn't be a time limit on this sort of thing. You'll know. If you're ready, you're ready. If it's too soon, it's too soon. And if you're not sure about her feelings, well... [Kitty grins up at him] I'm sure I could find out for you.

[He can't help but laugh at the smile on her face.] I take it you approve.

[He spins them around, twirling on the ice until they've stopped, his arms gripping Kitty's to balance her.] Is it fun, being this sane? Somehow you always know exactly what to do.

[Kitty nods as they slide to a halt. And she does - Bobby might just be the one to help Laura out in the ways that she can't.] Sane? [Kitty laughs at that, and for one reason or another, finds herself thinking of John and the library today. She hadn't known what to do in those moments - no, her logic was strangely irrelevant around him, it was strange. Strange, that was the only word she had for it. Strange, odd, insane. But Kitty shakes herself out of those thoughts, turning her attention back to Bobby.] Trust me, I'm not always like this. You just caught me on a good day.

Lucky for me, then. [He noticed her faraway expression, and, just as Kitty can read him like a book, he knows that means something.] You okay?

[Kitty nods, pushing her thoughts away for later. No, Bobby doesn't need to know about the weirdness with John, especially as they're not exactly best buddies at the moment. And plus, it's nothing - just her thinking too much as usual.] Definitely - just a long day and a longer night ahead. I've been procrastinating all day.

[He's suspicious, but he lets it go as they start skating around again. His tone lightens into teasing.] Hmmmm, I thought you were supposed to be Little Miss Organised when it came to schoolwork?
