Characters: Everyone! Even if you plan for your characters not to go on this trip, they can be doing other things here or talking about what they plan to do while the others are away.
Setting: The mansion.
Content: An open, free-for-all thread for all characters to talk about planning for their upcoming getaway to London (Jono's trip, which everyone else has appropriated for the whole school)
Status: Open and incomplete. Really, just talk about anything!

Jono was in the kitchen of the X-mansion, stocking up on snack foods for the plane ride, but it seemed to surprise Josh how little he was packing. "I'm going to pack for the plane," Jono explained, "and then buy food there. You didn't expect me to bring food to my hometown, did you? I have to eat what I can get over there!"

Meanwhile, some members of the staff were surveying the damage done to the west wing of the mansion during their recent attack by Kimura. "Oh well," Logan shrugged it off. "We'll bill it to the school, and anyway, most of the kids will be gone for the trip. Saves a lot of hassle not having people around for the construction."

Fortunately for the students, most of their living quarters hadn't been damaged, so they were able to pack their still-intact clothes and other necessities. As the days grew nearer to the trip, anticipation and excitement levels were rising.

"What's the deal with you and Gayle, now?" Josh asked Jono, as the two of the paused for a cookie break.

"Dunno," Jono answered with a shrug. "I mean... we'll see." He stuffed more cookies into his mouth and then said for an abrupt change in topic, "I wonder what everyone else is up to."

Hank was busy packing, too, but not for London. No, he was gathering everything he would need to make the trek to Berkeley, where he was finally scheduled to use their synchotron.

Right now he had joined Scott and Logan in the kitchen to pack up a few of his diet bars.

"The students are headed to London, and I am going the opposite direction," Hankd said to Scott. "I'm most excited, of course. A chance to use the particle accelerator has to be planned months in advance, so I'm afraid I won't be able to join the students. Perhaps you would like to indulge in some sight-seeing on my behalf?"

"Hank, you don't have to fake all this particle whozitswhatsit to get out of the trip." Logan leaned against the counter and looked to Scott. "Really could use a second set of eyes or eye, in your case, if you're up to it."

Hank seemed to actually hesitate. "Well... I suppose another thing to consider would be my presence on the plane. For political issues I've always used the Blackbird or Washington has provided transportation for me, but..." Hank shrugged. "I don't want to make anyone on the flight uncomfortable."

He then added, "And it's not made up, Logan, I told you. The particle accelerator is real!"

"Always makin' excuses! Yeesh!" Logan killed his beer, cracking another immediately, turning to Scott. "Whaddya say, Summers? Feel like takin' old Beast here off the hook so he can stop spinnin' lies?"

"Waitaminute. Everyone's going to England except Hank, and you're chaperoning. Without Hank." Scott's gaze ping-ponged between the two of them for a moment.

"That is the worst idea I've ever heard in my life. I'll be packed in under an hour, call the airline and reserve another ticket."

"Already did it." Logan grinned, showing many teeth. He took another chug of his beer. "You know Emma's not coming, either..."

"She's not?" Scott's sense of obligation and responsibility warred silently with his common sense. "So it's going to be me, and you, and these students. And me and you. Just you."

His head spun. "I'm sorry, I think I need to sit down for a minute."

"I can bow out if it worries you so much." Logan flickered with a glimmer of hope. "You can handle a team of X-men, I'm sure a plane full of teenagers is no problem!"

He chuckled. "The Maker's going, playing tech-lackey for Dazzler's band...whatever it's called this time around."

"Oh no. No SIR. You got me into this and you will see it through." Obligation won out again. "If you are not packed and ready to go - I'm packing for you. And I think you know what that means."

Scott marched off towards his room. "If the band's going, at least there will be some good entertainment."

"Didn't know you were a fan," Logan called after him. "You should mention it to Blaire, she's probably got a T-shirt in your size!"
