[You've probably seen the flyers plastered all over the school, neon purple and emblazoned with bold lettering reading:

THURSDAYS 8PM 'TIL YOU BLOW OUR SPEAKERS

They're for the new karaoke night Ali's insisted her bosses set up, and encouraged everyone within earshot of her ever to attend. You better be planning on attending, or else you'll never hear the end of it.

You're probably bumping into her, skating around the school, catching her heading off to work to set up, or perched on a bar stool impatiently waiting for the fun to begin. In typical Ali form, she's humming and singing to herself, it sure does sound like Blinded by the Light.]

[Okay, now Josh is totally, fully blushing. She just looked so cute up there on the stage! And then, when Bobby walked in, Josh had to duck and pretend not to be so awkward. Wait, wait. This is Bobby. And he and Laura are --

Maybe Josh's cheeks are so red because of the beer. Yeah, that's reasonable...

Josh coughs and then tries to compose himself and turns to Bobby.]

Hey, you made it.

[Bobby, of course, is completely oblivious to Josh's discomfort.]

How could I miss this? [He tilts his beer at the stage with a grin.] I'd say that you guys got her a little drunk, but that's kind of impossible.

Yeah, guess so. [Josh flashes Bobby a grin, and then pokes him.] Aren't you going to sing something? Isn't that why Ali dragged us all here?

[Bobby gives a snort of laughter.] You'll have to get me a lot more drunk than this- [he raises his beer] -to get me up on that stage.

Well, I'll go up there. [Josh stands, and wobbles a bit. He's certain that he could alter his own metabolism to process the alcohol faster, just like what happens in Logan's and Laura's bodies... but he hasn't bothered to do something like that. He gestures to Bobby.]

[Bobby nods and waves him on with a small smile.] Sorry, man. Maybe later - put as much distance between me and her performance as possible. So I'll look like I suck less.

[Hey, speaking of her, here Laura comes now, walking over to them now that her song is over. Bobby flashes her a crooked smile.]

[Josh and Laura cross paths as Josh gets up on the stage, and he looks away as Laura sits next to Bobby. He decides to ignore them for the next three minutes, at least. So he tries to pick a song while someone else is finishing up a song.]

[If Laura feels the adrenaline of performing and being applauded for it, it does not show besides a lightness in her eyes. She looks at Josh as he approaches, her lips in an almost smile, but is not quite sure why he does not say a word to her, her gaze following and lingering on him momentarily. She was helping him, wasn't she? They are friends. Perhaps she had read a cue wrong. This is- not unlikely.

She traces her steps back to the table, hops up next to Bobby.] Hi.

Laura & Bobby can just continue their thread here too!

[Josh is not a singer. Nope. Not at all. But there is another thing he isn't which is shy. So he's there onstage. And while he may not be good, he's fortunately not terrible either. He picked a song that isn't too complicated, and is relieved to see that people are dancing along and clapping to the beat.]

[Oh, oblivious Bobby. Having noticed nothing unusual about the way Josh is acting, he flashes Laura a warm smile as she sits down. ]

[He drapes an arm over the back of her chair, a comfortable and affectionate gesture that has become a lot easier and more natural now that their relationship isn't so new.]
