Bobby's aftermath threads

Content: There's a lot of things to deal with in the wake of the past couple of days...

Okay, so, in order to preserve my sanity while I get back into the rhythm of things with class, I'm trying something a little different. This will work kind of like the day-in-the-life posts, except I'm just going to throw up a few comments for a few specific characters, and then a general "Bobby's in the kitchen eating ice cream; come say hi" one which anyone can tag into after that. =)

Comments will be in vague chronological order, but we all know that TIME IS IN FLUX at XMH, so it doesn't matter too much when this stuff happens!

Oh, that Pfftt. [Josh shrugs in nonchalance.] I've healed myself from worse. Thanks, though. [He pauses to chow down on his food.]

But dude! After an attack like that? It's "Heal this! Heal that, Josh! Fix this!" [Josh laughs reproachfully.]

And I'm happy to do it, I really am, it's just, I usually end up knocked out cold after so many.

[Bobby offers a small sympathetic smile.] Damn hard being wanted, huh?

[He pauses, watches Josh wolf down the burrito.] Hank's not working you too hard, is he?

[Josh pauses to consider this, then smiles at Bobby.]

Yeah, you know, I guess not! Cause the last time there was an emergency and I conked out, and they needed me to heal someone, Hank just stabbed me with an epinephrine syringe. [He gives Bobby an incredulous look that says, "Can you believe that guy?"]

So, at least we can probably figure the injuries weren't as bad this time... I guess we can say, success!

[Josh's story earns a chuckle from Bobby, because - well, that is exactly what Hank would do. Poor Josh. Bobby gives him a wry smile.]

Yeah, success all around - you've only been knocked out for half a day, and it's only going to take two months instead of six to get the mansion back to how it was!

[Josh nods, finishing off the last of his food.]

Yeah? They got the estimate already? Nice. Yeah, I guess that's a good way to judge the success of a mission. If Hank didn't have to force me awake with a shot of adrenaline, then the injuries weren't that bad. And if we don't have to cram and share bedrooms, then the damage was better than average!

Always look on the bright side.

[Man, the guy eats fast. Bobby supposes an over-twelve-hour-fast will do that to you.]

Do you have to get back to the lab, or are you free and clear now?

Nope, I'm aaalll free. Going to take the board out for a spin later. You?

I'm enjoying my downtime. [Bobby indicates the half-empty tub of ice cream with his spoon.] I think we could all use a break for a while!

Yeah, totally, dude. Got any plans? [Josh strolls back to the fridge to get more food.]

Like I said, I got a date with my board, and that's about it for me.

Plans? Nah. Just taking it easy, I guess.

[He pauses for a moment, considering Josh.]

Maybe we could play some basketball some time. It's been a while since I did any non-fight-related physical activity.

Yeah, def.

[Josh nods.]

Should be fun. I'm just out there by myself most of the time, unless it's the kids, and then I gotta play nice. [Josh laughs, as though he's really got any kind of skills to speak of on the basketball court. His main sports were always baseball and football, though he does love tossing a basketball around, too.]

[Oh, Bobby knows basketball's not Josh's main sport. He smirks.]

Yeah, no playing dirty so you can beat the ten-year-olds.

[Josh snorts.] So I'm told!

Some of the kids play dirty, though...

[Bobby grins.] Dude, you could just stand in a strategic spot and blind them with the sun reflecting off your face.

AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA AHAHAHAH AHAHAHAH HHAHAH AHAHAHAHHAHA

I knowwwww, my thoughts exactly.

[Josh sneers a little at that, but then is unable to hold it in any longer and bursts out laughing.]

See, that's why I love my Yankees hat. It deflects the glare a little bit.

LOL, sorry to butt in here, but Josh and Forge should hang out! They are both taken for granted because of their mad skillz.

I can just see the two of them grousing together: "Do this! Do that! Bitches, please. Do it yourself for once!"

That's what I was thinking when I posted that :P
