SECOND IMPORTANT NOTE: It's been nearly a day since John has disappeared, along with Logan. There are whispers and rumors floating around school that John has left for the Brotherhood again and Logan has followed to skewer him. Some people say they ran away together to fall in love and join the circus though. Keep it in mind!

[Emma's arrived at the scene by now, brimming with rage. Mastermind's successfully blocking her presence out with his illusion so that her Cuckoos have no idea she's here. It takes but a thought for her to shift into her diamond form, one hand curling into a fist. She's standing behind him now. The illusionist is so wrapped up in his own success that he has no idea she's there until she speaks in far too calm a voice that drips with distaste.] Jason, darling? [He turns around, obviously startled. And then her diamond fist meets his face, sending him unconscious and crumpled to the ground at her feet.] You never were worth the effort.

[Emma steps over his unconscious body, turning her focus and anger upon Vanisher.] Girls, shall we?

[Both Phoebe and Celeste turn wide-eyed, confused, and startled for a moment, the expression foreign on their usually serene and all-knowing faces. When they realize Mindee isn't there - instead Mastermind is littered on the floor behind Emma, they both let out an identical stressed sound that quickly morphs into one of outrage.

They rise, still talking both aloud and in Emma's mind.]

[Porter definitely looks a bit shaken by the sudden loss of Mastermind and even more so by the sight of the three telepaths turning their attention on to him. Emma reaches out with her mind to the Cuckoos present before turning their combined telepathic might against Porter.]

Mindee. You will return her to us now.

[Against such power, Porter can do nothing but obey. He disappears, returns but several seconds later with Mindee, who is too furious, her eyes glowing white, her body covered in a sheen of sweat and a nasty bruise on her cheek. She stumbles forward into Phoebe and Celeste's waiting arms; for a moment they merely connect their minds and cling to each other.

Then, three sets of identical eyes turn towards Porter, all full of disgust and contempt.]

That's funny. Why is the dog walking on his hind legs?

Can't we make him behave like one? [They all slid their gaze to Emma.]

[Emma makes as if she's considering the matter for a moment before shaking her head.] No time for that right now, darlings. We do have a battle to win. [There's a quick glance behind here that reveals the distinct lack of Mastermind. She lets out a sound of irritated exasperation. She's not terribly surprised that he's found a way to escape but she's still annoyed at herself for being so sloppy.] Lock him in the lower levels. You can play later.
