[very open post] the cuckoos are creepy and beautiful. clearly irresistible.
Characters: Phoebe, Mindee, Celeste, YOU.
Setting: The rec room.
Content: Part one of Crystal's two-part spam of the community today.
Status: Open and incomplete.
[The girls are sitting on a couch, speaking telepathically to each other, but giggling and tittering on out loud. Who knows what (or who) they're talking about. It might even be you, you know.
It probably is, because three sets of very blue, pretty eyes are looking in your direction. And then all three of them giggle again.]

What?
(OOC: I seriously think it's lame they hardly used his telepath powers in the comics, only doing just enough to be like "oh, those powers are there, kinda sorta." I believe it was the result of the writers not thinking this through very well aka being lazy. Mutant rehab, I tell you! :P)

Your mental block is adorable, isn't it? Yes, so very flimsy.
{OOC: UHHHH YEAH. MUTANT REHAB FTW. Marvel gives a lot of characters the short stick for one reason or another. Tsk, tsk.)
no subject
His only audible response is a sigh.]
no subject
And what a cute sigh, too.
You'll have to excuse our dear sister, Jonothan. She's a terrible flirt.
no subject
Girls. Could you please help us find Kevin?
no subject
We could, as a matter of fact.
We were interested to see if you'd ever ask, Jonothan.
no subject
[He starts shaking his head, hunches over in the chair, and picks up his magazine.
Do you have to use Cerebro to find him?
no subject
It might not be waste of time to try. The New Brotherhood has a device that blocks Miss Frost's telepathic frequencies. The odds are high that it would block ours.
But. We could try.
no subject
Okay. I'll let Ali and John know. So what do we do now?
no subject
We're not above blocking Miss Frost out of our thoughts. We doubt she'd approve of this. We can do the same for you, and Ali, and John, for a time.
We will check Cerebro and then we will come find you.
But-
[Here the girls pause, their expressions becoming serious, their eyes glowing white.]
We will only help you if you promise us something, Jonothan Starsmore. You and your friends. Promise us that if we find Kevin, you will not go to retrieve him alone. That is foolish. Promise us. We'll see through any lies.
no subject
We won't be alone. I'll be with Ali, and John. And maybe you three, too, if you'd come along.
no subject
They all smile knowingly at his proposition, their brows raising in unison. Typical. Brave and stupid.]
The New Brotherhood is powerful. They are resourceful. Not only would it be pig-headed to go without informing everyone, but it would be unnecessary.
Although we appreciate your bravery. It's very... cute. [Yes, they chose that word purposefully.]
no subject
I just need to go find him. I'm going to be pissed if the faculty tries to stop us from going, but as long as we get him back, I don't care so much.
no subject
It's not compliant with our... ethics to decide who will retrieve Kevin Ford, should we find him, Jonothan. Surely you know that. That's entirely up to your behavior and the faculty's discretion.
no subject
[And just like that, Jono stops, and shuts down the mental connection. He doesn't even know himself how well he's blocked the Cuckoos right now, just that he's shut down the link. He stops his telepathic speech and reverts back to normal speech.]
I just want him to come home. I'd like to be the one to go get him myself, but I just want him back, so however's the best way we have to do it, we do it that way.
no subject
Manners, girls, mind your manners! Telepaths are not exempt from proper etiquette of staying out of others' business, you know. [Still, there's a small smile on Hank's face. He's fond of Emma Frost, and therefore fond of her girls, too.]
no subject
Yes, Dr. McCoy.
[They chorus this. They are also not convinced.]
no subject
no subject
Very much indeed.
We'd prefer if you didn't.
[The thoughts they send him are light and playful, but they are sitting straight now, folded hands in their laps, the picture of elegant poise.]
no subject
That's why I said if!
no subject
[They are still smiling and blinking up at him, like little angels.]
no subject
Don't y'all have anything better to do?
no subject
We're very sorry. We'll be quiet.
[The other two girls are covering the wide smiles on their lips, however.]
no subject
no subject
Excuse us.
We'd just like to ask you a question.
If you have a minute.
no subject
What.
no subject
Are we right to assume you'd rather converse this way?
We do know how private you are about these sorts of matters.
[Their expressions don't change; they are still slightly amused and being all prim and proper as any mini-Emmas would be.]
no subject
Just ask your damn question.
no subject
We couldn't help but overhear the rather loud demonstrations of your changing abilities these last several months.
We were pleased that you sought Miss Frost's help, if only because things got a bit quieter.
Which brings us to our question. We hope we're not being too forward in asking it. See, we don't like to delve too deep. It's not ethical. But why do you mistrust her so much? She's only ever helped you. Julian's quite fond of her as well. We'd say he trusts her just as much as we do.
no subject
I don't think that's really any of y'all's business.
no subject
[They chorus this, but they don't necessarily sound disappointed. She's predictable, and they didn't expect much of an answer, really.]
Miss Frost took us in, you know. We woke up, alone, on the side of the road. Without names or possessions, without knowing who we were, where we were from, or how we got there. She found us, because we needed to be found. You should not underestimate how much she cares.
no subject
That's you and not me.
no subject
[They say this in a chorus, their tone easily self-assured: they believe this, even know it as a fact.]
You put blind faith in a telepath who kept dark secrets from this entire institution, and yet you shun one who has only ever been honest with you. How sad it is when standards can be so skewed.
no subject
You can trust your Hellfire mentor if you want. I'll stick with trusting the person and the people who took me in and didn't just leave me to die when they easily could've.
no subject
[The Cuckoos stand, smooth down their clothes, all prim and sophisticated as they pass Rogue to the door.]
Do tell Julian we said hello. We're sure he misses our company sometimes.
no subject
no subject
Do at least try to be subtle, darlings.
no subject
Yes, Miss Frost.
But sometimes-
Just sometimes-
Something is too terribly amusing.
no subject
I know, girls. Who's the amusing person who can't keep their thoughts to themselves today?
no subject
John Allerdyce has feelings for Kitty Pryde.
He doesn't know it yet.
But we can tell.
no subject
no subject
[Now, the Cuckoos gaze looks shortly over to John, who's sitting in the corner, moodily playing with his lighter.]
We wouldn't have caught it, you know.
If he wasn't always so loud, and rude, and hateful.
He's quieter when she is around. We rather like him quieter.

Keep it to yourself, creepers.
