They just couldn’t ever escape it. Julian thought he had seen enough protests in New York, Massachusetts, and California over the “mutant menace” to last a lifetime. He thought he’d seen enough violence over it (and caused quite a bit in defense) to last a lifetime, too. Not that he was naive enough to think that this prejudice ran out. No, there was never a moment with these people that enough was enough.
There weren’t words for this kind of hatred.
