[Logan pauses, low growl in his throat, lunging once, only to find that his claws find no purchase in soft flesh as expected. Breath hot, escaping in foggy puffs from his flared nostrils, his bloodshot eyes narrow, advancing slowly.

It isn't Kitty's raised hands that give him pause, but pervading familiarity of her smell: rich, tantalizing fear but something else mixed in with it that is rare, and impossible to forget. Courage. Trust.

She says his name again and he softens, as if coming out of a daze, dropping to his knees in the snow.]

Kitty...[The rage is passing, his eyes clearly and he looks up at Shadowcat, the man named Logan in control once again.] What happened? What are you doing here?

[Kitty stays still, eyes frequently darting around them in case any dupes advance. But they're given this small moment of quiet, and thankfully it's enough. Whatever hold was on Logan breaks, but Kitty doesn't move until she can see his eyes: and they're clear, not wild and mad anymore. She lets out a puff of relief before sinking down to his level, the fear from before slowly filtering out.] We're in Vermont at the Brotherhood headquarters, do you remember that? [Kitty pauses, hesitating a bit - there's no use in hiding a backup team was sent, she'll leave that for Emma and Logan to argue about later.] I came as backup with Bobby and Julian, but Jono and Ali came on their own. We're outed and... [Kitty gestures to the woods around them, the shouts and scuffles speaking for themselves. There isn't any time to ask him what happened, so she focuses on the necessary.] Are you okay? [She puts a hand on his shoulder, hoping beyond anything that he is. Kitty's never seen Logan like this before, and knows they all need him to be all right - this fight won't be easy without him.]
