[John is leaning casually against a tree during the announcement - it's a valiant effort on his part, not to react to that long list of names. Nothing shows on his face, but slight panic and anger flashes just barely in his eyes. He has curled fingers against his lips, the steel of the plastic bic lighter pressing against his mouth. His only outward reaction is glancing at Kevin and holding his determined, ready gaze; sending looks of sneering contempt to another mutant eyeing him.

Inwardly a cold rush douses him; he feels both numb and angry - so many of those fucking idiots; what the hell were they doing here? And Kitty - she's the reason he swallows and starts stalking forward, breaking Kevin's meaningful stare.]

Stick with me. And Kev? [He stops, looks back, one of his hands raised to halt Wither.] Time to take the gloves off. [The advice is pointed, the encouragement holds double meaning.]

[Mortis is quick to move, graceful, elegant, vanishing into the thick of the trees, cutting around in wide berth to come up upon the main fight. She didn't notice the exchagne between Kevin and John, but it's not of her concern. Her sister is here. With friends

Evil, thick, black and malicious breeds in the space around her and the dim red glow of her eyes looks out onto the fight, watching, waiting for a moment to cut in and join the dance.

She is radiating darkness, gleeful hate. She glances up, catches a glimpse of Longshot, and nods. she doesn't need it, but his backup will make her job much more fun.]

[Kevin is almost pathetically grateful for the words from John. He wonders if the best course of action would be the split off from the Brotherhood and find the others to give them a heads up. His head's spinning, and he can't quite figure out how to save everybody and keep them safe, but he knows he has to. Somehow.]
