[open log] By the lake
Characters: Rogue, Logan, Julian, and open to others
Setting: By the lake
Content: Rogue's sitting by the lake because what happened in the Danger Room is still weighing on her mind. Individual threads please.
Status: Incomplete
[Rogue's sitting outside by the lake in one of the more secluded areas. She needs to think and doesn't want every other person stumbling over her. She's still trying to wrap her head around what happened in the Danger Room the day before the attack. Manifesting powers and various small personality traits for a while after she absorbs someone- that she can handle. Randomly manifesting Magneto's powers and temporarily losing control of her own body? Not so much. Try telling that to Logan...
She closes her eyes and tries to concentrate on Bobby's psyche and his powers. She tries to remember how it felt the other day when she lost control but nothing's happening. Maybe the air around her gets a few degrees cooler but that's it. And maybe she's just imagining it and secretly relieved at the lack of results.
It would be hard to tell what she's doing if someone didn't have an idea though. Because to most people, she's just sitting by the lake, oblivious to the rest of the world.]

[Her tone is light and deflecting as she glances at him briefly.]

Which is your way to avoid saying the real reason, which is... what exactly?
no subject
[The lie comes easily to her. She's been lying a lot these past few months.]
no subject
Midterms aren't until the beginning of November. You can't spare a week?

[As far as lies go, this is not one of the more planned out ones.]</small

[He says this with a knowing little smile because... clearly, he knows something's up. His torso pivots a little to face her, hand leaning on the ground and the other across his legs. Yeah, this is body language 101. So into you, Rogue. So into you.]
Listen, sweetheart, no one's forcing you to go to London, but you don't have to lie about why, either.
no subject
Maybe I just have a better work ethic than you, sugah. Besides, if I'm helping you with those papers, I've gotta actually have my own written too.
[Look: catching her in a lie like this may not be difficult but she will still totally go the whole way with it.]
no subject
But how are you gonna to help me when I'm in London and you're still here?
no subject
I won't. I'll just have a wonderful week free from simplifying classic literature down to your level.
no subject
Ouch, sweetheart, that hurt. That really hurt. Now why aren't you going to London again?
no subject
[She really does think he has more two brain cells. She just can't help it. She's just going to sigh with frustration.]
Could've sworn I just answered that...
no subject
You did, and you lied. But it's fine, sweetheart. I'll bring you back a souvenir.

[She's not really mad with him-- just a bit irritated. She's kind of used to this by now.]

Okay, point taken, sugah.
