[closed log] being a dick is a hard life
Characters: Julian, Rogue
Setting: The mansion's cafeteria, then elsewhere.
Content: Have we mentioned Julian's been a dick? It's such a rarity.
Status: Complete.
[Julian's just enjoying dinner, looking a little haggard and worse for wear after working out all day. It's just what he does when life gives him lemons. Also when he realizes he's been an unmitigated ass.
He gets over laughing at some joke of Jono's, and then his smile is wiped off his face and he freezes. Because he spots Rogue walking into the cafeteria, their eyes lock, and then she understandably turns on her heel to leave.
But Julian Keller isn't deterred by this, because he's been at her door once a day trying to talk to her, even though she hasn't given him a chance to apologize again yet. His chair screeches as he gets up abruptly, and this earns him a few stares, but he manages to run and catch up with her down the hall, reaching out a hand to gently touch her arm for only a second, just to get her attention.]
Rogue, c'mon. Just give me a chance.

Rogue, c'mon. Just give me a chance.

Give me one good reason why.

You're right, I don't deserve a chance. I'm a dick, sweetheart, I know that. I wasn't thinking. Well, I was, but not--you're fucking gorgeous, sweetheart. I wasn't--I just went for it and it was stupid. I know about Bobby and your shit and I'm sorry.
But I swear to god if you just give me a chance, I will never not think like that with you again.

I'm an idiot. I'm in your way. I'm moving.

Light bulb time. He's desperate. He doesn't chase her, but he does have the most pitiful, little bitch look on his face when he speaks.]
I will. Do anything. I will get on my hands and knees. I will humiliate myself. I will lick the goddamn floor. I will let you break my nose and not even ask the homo to fix it.
You are--seriously--the only person who believes I can rub two brain cells together in this place. You're funny and beautiful and smart and ten times better than any other girl in this school and I am the biggest dick. Please. Please.

I ain't sure what part of me avoiding you for the past few days wasn't clear, sugah.

I got the message, sweetheart. [Then he gestures to the general world with his hand as if to say "why wouldn't I keep on?"] I had to try.

You know that if you ever try something like that again, I'll drain you dry, right?
no subject
One-hundred percent. [then he quirks an eyebrow, mostly to himself, because obviously]

Just... actually read Jane Eyre before I help you with your essay next week, okay?
no subject
Ugh. Sugar, couldn't you just punch me in the face instead?

Wouldn't dream of it, sweetheart.
[And then he backs away too. Back to dinner nom noms.]
