[ROGUE'S ROOM] Julian & Rogue scene

He knocked on her door twice, knuckles white. Silently, two hands gripped either side of the doorframe and he looked down, waiting.

There was a click, and there she stood, eyes sunken with recent tears and eyebrows still furrowed with latent anger.

Julian was silent, face devoid of its usual self-satisfied smirks or condescending sneers. “I'm sorry,” he said, remembering the sting across his cheek. Straightening, he reached out to touch the dried trails underneath her eyes.

“Are you really?” she asked quietly, refusing to look up at him.

“Yes,” he replied bluntly. “Look, can I come in? I think we need to talk.”

“I ain't really in the mood for talking,” she said. Her actions negated her words, however, as she moved to one side of the doorway to let him in.

He stepped inside and shut the door behind him. “Then I can talk enough for both of us.” He ran a hand through his hair, giving her room a curious sweeping gaze before landing on her. “I didn’t start that fight.” He began, matter-of-fact. “And I can’t think of any other reason why he would besides he knows about us- because now everyone else somehow does.”

Rogue leaned against her dresser, still refusing to look at him. “Someone must have seen us on the roof and told him.”

Julian blinked and took a step forward, concern etching on his features. He balanced her chin on his finger and tried to look in her eyes. “Talk to me.”

“About what?” she asked, finally meeting his gaze.

“About why you won’t look at me.” He dropped his hand.

“I… it’s nothing,” she said, biting her lower lip. “I’m just tired.”

“You’re lying.” He stated. “Are you mad?”

She didn’t respond for a moment. Instead, she moved a few steps away before turning towards him again. “Bobby hates me.”

It was Julian’s turn to look away, nearly hiding the agitated curling of his lip. “Oh. Him.” He said, falling heavily into Rogue’s desk chair. “So he can talk after his mouth kissed the floor today?”

“Yes, him,” she said curtly. “It doesn’t take a lot of talking for someone to express their undying hatred for you. It didn’t take a lot of talking for him to say how he thinks I cheated on him either.”

“It’s a good thing you didn’t then, sweetheart.” He said, leaning back. “If you want, I’ll buy him a muzzle for you.”

Any sort of emotion disappeared from both her face and her voice as she opened her door. “If all you came in here to do was be a jerk, then get out.”

He blinked at her once, the nasty sneer falling. “I came here to see if you were okay.”

“Well I’m not,” Rogue said, still emotionless. “And you’re not helping any. So get out.”

He stood after a moment, slowly walking to stop at her feet, eyes locked on her as he shut the door closed. After the small click sounded, he opened his mouth. “You shouldn’t be alone right now.”

“Even if I want to be?” she asked softly, not meeting his gaze once more.

She didn’t see his eyes flash with worry. “Especially if you want to be.” He said quietly, arms wrapping around her.

She didn’t say anything for a few minutes, instead just resting her head against his chest. “I’m not going to lie; I ain’t too happy with you right now, sugah. With either one of you.”

“Well, I’m sorry.” He repeated, dropping his chin to whisper the apology in her ear.

“I know,” Rogue whispered back. “But it’s not going to help make things any better.”

“At the risk of getting kicked out,” he started, running digits along her spine, “he doesn’t know what happened and he’s a dick to assume he does.”

“That’s it; get out,” she said jokingly but her tone sobered quickly once more. “And I know but it doesn’t make things any easier to deal with.”

He sighed against her, leaning back to look her in the eyes. “Fuck him, then.” He said brazenly. “If he wants to think the worst of you so he doesn’t have to remember what he’s lost...” He trailed off, moving her hair out of her eyes. “...better for me.” He concluded with a small playful smile.

“And let me guess… better for me too?” she asked with a half smile.

He grinned this time. “Now you’re getting it,” he said, letting his lips press to hers.

She sighed, hands clutching the fabric of his shirt. With an agonizingly slow kiss, he broke away, moving to her neck, breath flushing over skin. His tongue made a small circle below her ear, trailing up to take the lobe, teeth gently scratching.

Rogue’s knees literally went weak, his arms pushing her against the wall of his chest. He laid a kiss on her neck before returning to her mouth, taking in a shallow breath.

Her feet were lifted from the floor, and she laid a hand on his cheek before they fell against sheets, Julian’s knee pushing apart her legs.

His hands clutched her waist, lips clashing feverishly as his heart began to race. A pregnant sigh sounded from her, legs twining over his and a soft and almost imperceptible grunt left him, the sound vibrating along her lips. His palms traveled up her sides and his tongue caressed hers attentively, skin flushing with heat and permeating into her form.

“Julian-” She gasped as he pulled away, fingers dipping underneath the line of her gloves. He stroked the bareness there steadily before pushing the fabric off, hand draping over her bare fingers and guiding them to the line of his jaw.

Rogue bit her lip and lightly rubbed the mid-day stubble growing underneath her fingertips. Julian’s eyes fluttered closed and he took her lips again, this time even more heatedly. Without a beat, she pulled off her remaining glove, arms encircling his neck.

He moved above her in answer, touch straying to press against her thigh, venturing to pull her further around him by the crook of her knee. She let out a moan and Julian smiled into their kiss, leading his lips down her neck and to the slope of her collarbone, hand suddenly sliding across her stomach, shirt riding up.

Rogue tensed slightly as his roaming lips left a cooling mark above the fabric of her bra. “Julian-” She started breathlessly, tugging his gaze to hers. “Too fast, sugah,” she said, and Julian let out a long shaky sigh, eyes burning into hers.

He pushed himself off of her, breath steadying slowly. After a moment, he looked her way again with a smile, tugging her against his side. Rogue sighed and closed her eyes.

“Julian?” She asked quietly a moment later.

“Hmm?” He answered, fingers brushing through her hair.

“Can you... do you mind if we just stay in here for the day?” She whispered hesitantly.

Julian shifted, and Rogue stole a look of his slight smile and the eyelashes brushing against his cheeks. “Yeah, sure.” He held her closer. “I'll get us dinner later.”

She nodded against him and wiped silently at the dried salt of tears toughening her cheeks.
